The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department is reporting that at least 12 individuals have been injured after an attack that included multiple stabbings on the Lone Star College Cypress-Fairbanks campus, according to KHOU.com

The 14 individuals were rushed to local hospitals—four of them with critical injuries.

Three individuals were tended to at the scene.

According to one witness, two men ran down the hallway of the college’s Health and Science Center and proceeded to stab people as they went along. The witness said that one victim was “bleeding profusely.”

Some students in the technology building were also victims of the attacks. The campus has put the students on lock down, sending warnings and instructions through text messages.

“Seek shelter now. If away, stay away," read the texts sent to the students.

The school also made announcements over the campus’ loud speakers.

"This is an emergency. Everybody stay inside of your rooms. Do not leave your rooms," students were told.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Police have detained one suspect.

They described the second suspect as a white male with brown hair reaching down to his shoulders, according to unconfirmed reports from a police scanner. The also report the man had on a black backpack.

The 12 victims were split between two hospitals—Memorial Hermann Hospital and North Cypress medical Center. The six victims that were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital were also split—four arrived by Life Flight helicopters and two arrived by ambulance.

The HSCO only acknowledged that some of the victims were stabbed.

Margo Shimfarr-Evans, a student at the college, recounted her experience saying that one of her classmates was a victim.

"I had just left class out of the HSC [Health Science Center] building, and as we were leaving we saw the cops coming. I called to check on another classmate who was still inside the building and she said the classroom was on lock down and she said one of the classmates had been stabbed," she said. "It happened in the hallway."

According to students, authorities are searching every car as it exits the campus.
