The days of wondering what pastry to get for breakfast are long gone because there is officially a breakfast item that includes all the delicious deep fried, salty and sweet flavors of both a donut and a bagel: The Everything Donut.

The Doughnut Project in New York City, which is known for its unique and interesting flavor combinations, released this new hybrid creation earlier this week and foodies can't stop talking about it. The Everything Doughnut is a yeast donut topped with a sweet cream cheese glaze, and then sprinkled with all the typical everything bagel toppings like black sesame seeds, garlic, poppy seeds, pepitas and sea salt, according to The Daily News. This trendy treat will cost you $3.75.

"The flavor is reminiscent of the everything bagel, but the texture is very light and fluffy," the bakery's co-owner Leslie Plizzotto said. "It's almost like eating these toppings on bread."

"People are already arguing about it, which I think is wonderful," the other co-owner, Troy Neal, told Gothamist. "I knew we kind of hit a chord a little bit because not everybody's on board, or they're a little skeptical about what it's going to be like. Our idea is to straddle that fence between the salty and the sweet and this was one that definitely does that."

"The Everything Doughnut is the one in the box for someone who doesn't like a sweet doughnut," Polizzotto added. "If you bring a box of doughnuts to work there's always someone who isn't going to eat a sweet doughnut but this may fill that niche."

While The Doughnut Project changes the menu up from time to time, they are known for their unique classics. While they only offer a few different flavors at a time, what they lack in variety they make up for in intense flavor. On their current menu, they have The Classic, which is a bacon maple bar with a FULL slice of bacon on top; Those Beetz Are Dope, which is a beet flavored donut stuffed with ricotta cheese; The Costanza, which is a salted chocolate frosted donut with buttered pretzel crumbles; and The Bronx, which is an olive oil and black pepper donut.

Neal even revealed that he's working on a few more crazy combinations to come out sometime this spring, like a Grapefruit-Rosemary donut, or one that will feature Serrano peppers and honey.

"The Everything Doughnut kind of overshadowed it a little bit," he explained of the spicy honey idea. "Now I might tweak it a little bit more."
