There's been another casting announcement for the upcoming movie "Fifty Shades of Grey." According to Variety, 27-year-old actress Eloise Mumford is tapped to play the beautiful, blonde Kate Kavanagh.

For those not familiar with the plot, Kate is best friends and college roommates with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). Kate is the complete opposite of her shy bestie - outgoing, bubbly and speaks her mind. Ana often describes Kate as vivacious, beautiful and someone boys adore. The aspiring journalist isn't too fond of Ana's relationship with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) but ends up falling in love with his brother, Elliot Grey (Luke Grimes).

Mumford recently appeared in "So Undercover" alongside Miley Cyrus. She has done a few other movie and TV roles like "Buried Treasure," "The River" and "Some Boys Don't Leave." According to her IMDb page the actress can be seen next in the movie "Not Safe for Work."

Variety reports that casting Kate was a "high priority" for Universal Pictures and Focus Features but the role was put on hold after Charlie Hunnam (the original Christian Grey) quit the role in October. The studios had even reportedly started testing different actresses with Johnson but was forced to refocus on the lead role of the kinky billionaire.

Besides the lead two couples, "Fifty Shades" has cast Jennifer Ehle to play Carla, Ana's mother and Victor Rasuk as Jose, Ana's good friend and Christian's rival. Another key role the film needs to cast is Taylor, Christian's quiet and trusted bodyguard.

There were rumors that the role was offered to actor Frank Grillo but for unknown reasons he turned it down. "Fifty Shades of Grey" will begin filming Dec. 2 in Vancouver and the movie is scheduled to hit movie theaters Feb. 13, 2015 just in time for Valentine's Day.
