Please join Google and the City of Austin for an announcement on Tuesday."
Google has been making some advancement recently with the launch of new services, but it has also announced the shutdown of certain apps to focus on improving remaining services. Google recently started the same day delivery to encourage people to do more online shopping. The service is in the pilot phase and limited to the consumers in San Francisco and its suburbs. It may be possible that Google plans to expand its pilot operation in Austin as well.
Google made headlines with the launch of its Google Fiber 1-gigabit-per-second service in Kansas City last year.
Google Chairman Eric Schmidt had said in December that the company plans to expand the Google Fiber network outside Kansas City. Maybe Google intends to extend the 1 Gbps service in Austin as a wide range of hi-tech industries and universities operate out of the city..
KVUE has confirmed that Google will be launching the 1-Gbps service in Austin. It is a sure fact that if it does happen, the capital city of Texas would be just the right place to make the best use of the service.
