Gearbox, the developer behind the popular shoot-and-loot game "Borderlands 2" has revealed the second in its trilogy of headhunter DLC packs that is apparently themed for Thanksgiving.
"The Horrible hunger of the Ravenous Wattle Gobbler" will take the holiday and give it a very Borderlands and Pandora makeover. According to IGN, the story follows a Hunger Games-style tournament that is held on Pandora and hosted by none other than fan-favorite recurring character Mr. Torgue. The contest involves the Vault Hunters trying to take down and kill the new fierce enemy the Wattle Gobbler. However, the contest is rigged and the player has to poison the Wattle Gobbler to weaken it before they can take him down and win the tournament once and for all.
The Wattle Gobbler DLC, apart from being fun to say, follows the first Headhunter Pack "TK Baha's Bloody Harvest," a Halloween-themed downloadable content pack that had the Vault hunters defeat a giant pumpkin villain at the orders of a zombified TK Baha, a character from the very first Borderlands game who dies in the first Act.
With the second being Thanksgiving-themed, it's not hard to figure out what the general theme of the third and final pack will be. We do know, however, that it will be called "How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day" and will be released in December.
The Thanksgiving-themed pack will be available on November 26 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC/Mac for $2.99 / £2.39 / €2,99
