The two sides begin the first of their two T20s on Tuesday. Rain is expected to be a factor in the match, IB Times reports. Playing is important - both sides can use the series as a tune up for the upcoming World T20 tournament.

"We have already started preparing for the World T20," New Zealand skipper Kyle Mills said, via IB Times. "You could see that over the last couple of months, with the introduction of some young players. Some of them have really stood up, so with the T20 games remaining between now and the World Cup, you see those guys come to the forefront. Our whole objective is to find a squad to try and win the tournament."

As New Zealand tinkers with its roster to find the best lineup, the team's attention will be on its batters. Although the back-order has been solid behind the efforts of Nathan McCullum, New Zealand will need production from the top of its order.

Projected Squads (via CricBuzz):

Sri Lanka: Dinesh Chandimal (c), Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Lahiru Thirimanne, Nuwan Kulasekara, Angelo Matthews, Ajantha Mendis, Thisara Perera, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga, Kushal Janith Perera, Seekkuge Prasanna, Ramith Rambukwella, Sachithra Senanayake.
