Meizu Introduces World’s First 128GB Phone; Works Only On Chinese Networks

Chinese device maker Meizu has introduced its MX3 smartphone, the world's first phone with 128GB onboard storage. The device retails for ¥3,999 (approximately $656) for an unlocked version but works only with Chinese networks.

There are some things in the world that are too good to be true and if they are true then they are out of reach. Such is the case with the latest smartphone introduced by the Chinese device maker, Meizu. The company introduced a new addition to its MX series, the MX3. What really got our attention is the enormous onboard storage, 128GB, that's right! Double than your iPhone's high-end storage. But don't worry, we are not comparing any other features with your iPhone. However, the MX3 smartphone takes away the title of being the world's first smartphone with highest onboard storage. At least till Apple's rumored iPhone model with similar storage hits the market.

The Meizu MX3 smartphone was first showed off at the Beijing National Aquatics Center last September and has been released only in the Chinese market and works only with the Chinese network. This is where our hands are tied, unless you stay in China, the smartphone works fine with TD-SCDMA networks. Since there are loopholes always, the MX3 can still be used outside China but if you are willing to give up your need to browse 4G, as well as 3G. The device will work through 2G GSM network internationally.

Besides the massive storage, the MX3 sports a 5.1-inch 1080p capacitive display, Samsung's Octa-core Exynos 5 processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Flyme 3.0I. The smartphone sports a 2,400 mAh battery for up to 14 hours of 3G, or 393 hours of standby time.

Meizu MX3 is available for purchase online via JD.com for ¥3,999 (approximately $656), which is more or less the price of any high-end smartphone in the market.
