Netflix officially confirmed it will revive "Gilmore Girls."

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos first acknowledged the months-long reports at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. The streaming service then confirmed the revival news on Friday and the return of original cast members Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Paterson and Kelly Bishop.

"Gilmore Girls" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband and producing/writing partner Daniel Palladino will reboot the series that ran from 2000 to 2007 on The WB/CW. The couple left the show before its seventh and final season, leaving many fans to wonder how its original creators' planned on ending the series.

Series regulars Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena have also signed on to reprise their roles.

Early reports on the "Gilmore Girls" revival reveal creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino will write and direct the entire series, which will consist of four 90-minute mini-movies set in the present day. Each episode will represent one of the four seasons over a calendar year.

Photos shared from the Warner Bros. Studio lot shows construction already has begun on sets. The original cast members - Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson - are also in continuing negotiations to return, according to TVLine.

At least one of those four main leads will be getting a new love interest in the revival series. The logical choices would be Rory, who was last seen dumping her boyfriend Logan, or Emily, whose on-screen husband, Edward Hermann, died last year.
