NASA Holds Massive Interactive Exhibition on Angry Birds

NASA is currently holding a massive interactive exhibition of the popular game Angry Birds at their Kennedy Space Center.

NASA has found a fun way to lure people into visiting its Kennedy Space Center. The space agency is now holding a massive interactive exhibition on the popular game Angry Birds. Some of the activities include making your own digital Angry Bird, playing the Eggsteroid Slingshot, and traversing the Danger Zone Mirror Maze and Red Planet Laser Challenge.

NASA intends for this exhibition to be educative along with being fun and interactive.

"Concepts of human space exploration are incorporated into Angry Birds Space Encounter, reflecting the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex's ongoing mission to encourage young people in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields of study," Bill Moore, the center's CEO, said in a statement about the exhibit.

The announcement of the collaboration between NASA and Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment Ltd. was made by Astronaut Donald Pettit, a chemical engineer a year ago through a YouTube Video.

"Wow, this could be a great venue for getting some physics and getting some math and getting some science into something that has the connotation as just an empty brain-draining video game that sucks out the creativity from the minds of young people," Pettit told The Associated Press at the grand opening. "And so I thought, well, maybe I could help make a difference on this and bring the idea of a game up to a different level, where unbeknownst to the kids playing it, they're learning a little bit of math and physics at the same time."

The exhibition will be on for a year and will be open daily from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Rates are $50 for adults and $40 for children (taxes extra).
