"The Voice" season 9 winner Jordan Smith got engaged to his girlfriend Kristen Denny just in time for 2016! The singer popped the question to Denny and shared the news on his Twitter account on New Year's day.

"RINGING in the new year with my future wife!" he captioned an adorable picture of the pair where Denny showed off her engagement ring. "She said YES! #Mr&MrsSmith."

"Wow! Yesterday was absolute perfection! Thanks for all the well wishes and sweet messages! I am so incredibly blessed and I can't wait to marry my best friend!" Denny captioned her own Instagram picture of the two holding hands.

The year 2016 is off to a good start for Smith after his whirlwind 2015. The singer brought home another win for Team Adam on season 9 of the hit NBC singing competition show "The Voice."

Smith and Denny dated for three years before their engagement, according to People.The couple were not the only ones who were excited for the future bride and groom. Actor Henry Winkler was happy as well and even tweeted Smith a sweet message "Long live the Smiths."
