Janet Jackson will have to delay her “Unbreakable World Tour” by a few months to undergo a necessary surgery, she announced on her Instagram on Dec. 24.

Jackson promised to honor the tickets already purchased by fans for the dates that would be rescheduled. She didn’t specify what surgery she needed.

“Hey you guys… Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring,” the 49-year-old singer wrote. “Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time. There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon' b alright.”

Jackson completed the first leg of her tour on Nov. 12, her first time on the road in four years. She stopped production a month before the tour kicked off to visit her father, Joe Jackson, who suffered multiple heart attacks in July.

The “Unbreakable World Tour” was set to continue on January 9 at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Jackson has dates scheduled through the end of June.

The world tour coincided with the release of her eleventh studio album, “Unbreakable.” It was her seventh album to debut at No. 1.
