Xbox 720 Console Requires Every Game to be Installed?

According to rumors, the new Xbox 720's console will require users to install all their games on the console's hard drive.

Since Microsoft announced the making of its new Xbox 720, rumors about its releasing date, specifications and price have been making the rounds. Now according to a news report by Christian Post, rumors have it that the new Xbox 720 requires users to install all the games they want to play on the console's hard drive.

These rumors might just be true as Vgleaks posted a number of screenshots Friday that show different information that is found in the "Durango" Xbox development kit. "Durango" is reportedly the codename for the next-generation Microsoft gaming console, Xbox 720.

IGN.com confirmed the screenshots that Vgleaks had posted and revealed some features of the console, including a high-fidelity Kinect sensor and huge trouble for used game purchasers.

"Every Durango console will have a hard drive, although its exact capacity has not been chosen," reads the help documentation for the Durango XDK. "It will be large enough, however, to hold a large number of games. All games will be installed on the hard drive. Play from the optical disc will not be supported."

The report by Vgleaks also states that all the games will be available on Blu-ray discs. These discs will only be required during the installation of certain data and won't be required when the user actually plays the game.

It could prove beneficial for Sony if they also make it compulsory for users to purchase a game brand new in order to play it. However, Sony's current deal of allowing multiple users to use a single game can also work in favor of the company as users would automatically be drawn to the system since it facilitates the purchase of used games at low prices.
