Adam Lambert's "Glee" character will be introduced on the next episode. Lambert was seen in the episode four promo performing a very over-the-top rendition of Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night."

The "American Idol" alum will join the cast as Elliot "Starchild" Gilbert, a New Jersey native who auditions for a new band being put together by Kurt (Chris Colfer), Santana (Naya Rivera) and Dani (Demi Lovato). Lambert told Entertainment Weekly that his character auditions for a spot in the band in front of Kurt and the two butt heads at first.

"As far as the character goes, at first Kurt and Starchild don't quite click, but then they click," he said. "It's definitely a work in progress."

Colfer revealed on "Live! With Kelly and Michael" that Lambert was going to be his nemesis and he was excited that he was getting the chance to be a mean kid on the show.

"Oh yeah! Apparently Adam Lambert is joining the show and he's going to play my nemsis," he said. "I always wanted to see Kurt be mean. I know no one else does, but it'll be fun for me."

Lambert also previously revealed that Starchild does not make it past the audition phases because of his overblown performance.

"I'm playing a kid with big dreams - he really reminds me of myself maybe seven years ago," he said. "He comes to the audition in a full costume and makeup, and REALLY over the top, and gets cut, because he's told that it's too much."

From Lambert's comment it sounds like he might not stay on the series for long but there is the possibility that Kurt, Dani and Santana give him a second chance. After all, he did say his relationship with Kurt was a work in progress.

The episode, titled "A Lady or a Gaga," airs Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. on Fox. Check out the promo below.
