Canon revealed its new Powershot SX280 HS digital camera Wednesday March 20, 2013, with highly sophisticated features in a compact design, according to a report from Slash Gear News.
Canon offers super zoom, Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS for geotagging in its new digital camera- Powershot SX280 HS - along with high definition video recording. Canon also included its latest image processor - Digic 6 processor for the first time, which may be included in DSLRs at a later time.
The small sized travel camera would be an excellent choice for photographers expecting something small, packed with great features and latest options. Canon ensured perfection for its camera built in with 12.1 million pixel high sensitivity CMOS sensor with ISO capability up to ISO 6400. The low light performance has also been improved by up to 30 percent to capture images with more clarity and detail.
Powershot SX280 also includes a Dynamic IS mode. This feature avoids blurred images due to camera shake giving a clearer footage even while walking.
The GPS integrated into the camera allows geotagging as the photos are taken. To further enhance the sharing experience, Canon included Wi-Fi connectivity. If paired with Canon Camera Windowapp available for all Android and iOS users, photos can be transferred from the camera to an Android or iOS device.
"Canon recognizes the importance of capturing the highest quality images possible and sharing them instantly and easily," said Yuichi Ishizuka, Canon's Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Imaging Technologies and Communication Group, according to the report. "The PowerShot SX280 HS Digital Camera with its impressive features provides users the resources to shoot in almost any situation and the creative tools to help capture their vision."
Canon also unveiled a similar camera-Canon Powershot SX270 but it does not include features like GPS and Wi-Fi. Both the cameras share a similar optical zoom lens of 25mm wide-angle 20x. The LCD screen (3-inch 461,000) on both the digital cameras is similar with an added glass layer for better protection.
Although the date of sale is yet to be confirmed, but according to Tech Radar, the prices for both the cameras are slightly different. PowerShot SX280 HS is priced around $454 and PowerShot SX280 HS at $424.
