Beyoncé is one step closer to making her return to the big screen! The "Drunk in Love" singer has reportedly joined Bradley Cooper's directorial debut of a remake of the classic film, "A Star is Born," according to Page Six.

"Beyoncé is a go," a source told the publication.

"A Star is Born" tells the story of a love affair between two performers. One is a young, up and coming talent while the other is an aging has-been, according to Vanity Fair. The film has already been made three times, once in 1937 with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, then again in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason and once more in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.

This would be the first time Cooper has stepped behind the camera, but the Academy Award-nominated actor still plans to star in the film with Queen Bey as well. This would be Beyoncé's first film since 2009's "Obsessed." While the film might not be ready to be made until late 2016 or early 2017, this is not the first time the 34-year-old pop star has been tied to the project, according to Us Weekly. She was first linked to "A Star is Born" when Clint Eastwood was attached to direct but dropped out in October 2012 due to scheduling.

"She wants to land leading roles in movies and has been taking classes in New York and L.A. for the past year," an insider told Us Weekly.

Beyoncé was previously nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for 2006's "Dreamgirls."
