In this week’s episode of Reign alliances will be tested.
According to the preview for Thursday’s episode “Kisses”, Mary may have to make a tough decision for the safety of her country.
Mary will learn of an attack by England on the border of Scotland. Therefore, she does the logical thing and asks King Henry for some troops to help fight off the English.
He says no.
It seems the English have made a smart bet that the French want to avoid a conflict with them at all costs.
So, since the French aren’t offering any help Mary may have to seek aid elsewhere—and Tomas the son of the Portugese king has a pretty enticing offer:
“If you marry me, we can save Scotland”
What will Mary do?
If Mary marries Tomas, all of Catherine’s wishes will be granted. She’s been trying from day one to get Mary out of her son’s life (which is understandable since Nostradamus predicted Mary + Marriage to Francis = Francis’ death.)
In last week’s episode Catherine, played by Megan Follows, had Lola's love Colin killed. However, that was only because her first plan failed. When asked by TVLine’s Kimberly Roots if murder will ever become the first option for the Queen, Follows said it’s a possibility.
“Well, it depends on how threatened I am,” she told Roots. “That’s what’s fun for me as an actor, and what’s not fun for the character, is that it’s a game of survival.”
