Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr Split, End Their Six-Year Relationship

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr officially announced their split Friday, ending their six-year relationship.

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were Hollywood's ideal couple. The two started dating each other in 2007 and decided to take things to the next level in 2010. They announced their engagement in June that year and were married a month later. The couple has a two-year-old son Flynn.

In an official statement, a rep of the couple announced that the two had split after living separately for the past few months.

"In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months," the rep told E!Online. "After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation."

"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family," he continued.

Last July, there were rumors that all was not well between the celebrity couple. After spotting Kerr sans her diamond ring, Famous Magazine first reported the news.

"She's not wearing her ring, and she's had a lot on her plate - it could be that somewhere along the way her relationship with Orlando may have slipped between the cracks," the magazine quoted a source as saying.

The magazine also reported that Kerr was seen coming out of a building that offered relationship counseling. However, reps and Kerr herself were quick to rubbish the rumors and blasted the website for spreading such gossip.

Now, more than a year later, it seems that the reports may not have been entirely untrue. The couple has been living separately for a few months now and has decided to formalize their split with the announcement. Details about custody of their son Flynn or when the divorce will finalize have not been revealed yet.

After the announcement, TMZ caught up with the "Lord of the Ring" actor to ask him if there was any particular reason for the split. Bloom refused to comment saying everything he needs to say about the split has been mentioned in the released statement. However, when asked whether he and Kerr are still friends, the actor candidly replied, "We're not friends. We're family."
