LeAnn Rimes poked fun at herself for having the label "home wrecker" and caused a Twitter outrage. The "spitfire" singer was given the label for having an affair with Eddie Cibrian after the two met on the set of the Lifetime movie "Northern Lights."
Both Rimes and Cibrian were married at the time and the affair caused both of them to end their marriages. The country singer hasn't been able to shake the term but was trying to make light of it by posting a picture on Twitter of her playfully posing in a truck with the words "Wrecker Service" scrawled on it, the Daily Mail reports.
Rimes caption the photo: "DON"T OPEN w/o A SENSE OF HUMOR... My Dad has a towing service, family business. #havefunw/thecomments."
Some fans did have fun with the comments and though the picture was funny.
"@leannrimes I legit laughed out loud, my mom just asked what I was laughing at," one user posted.
"Love this picture and the boots," someone else tweeted.
"If @leannrimes could post like this more often, I bet she'd bring back a lot of fans. This is cute," another fan wrote.
However many of her Twitter followers thought the picture was tasteless and blasted the 31-year-old singer for uploading it.
"@leanrimes oh you should be SO proud #hasbeen," a fan commented.
"She is just digging her hole deeper," someone else wrote.
Rimes and Cibrian's relationship got off to a very rocky start once the affair became public. Her ex-husband Dean Sheremet recently opened up about the affair to "Access Hollywood" revealing how he was "blindsided" by the news.
"I had a call... from LeAnn," Sheremet said. "She said, 'well, US Weekly may or may not have a picture of me and Eddie kissing.' I'm like, 'Whoa! What do you mean may or may not have a picture? What does that mean?' So then... it unfolded from there."
Back in 2010, the singer told Robin Roberts that she had "no regrets" about the affair.
"That's just not me. What happened is not who I am, period," Rimes told Roberts. "But I do know how much I love him. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't."
What do you think of the picture?
