The Colorado Avalanche plays the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. The game starts at 7 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast HERE or watch the live stream HERE.
Colorado (2-0-0) is set to receive a boost with the return of captain Gabriel Landeskog. A minor leg injury kept Landeskog out of Friday's game against Nashville. Avalanche coach Patrick Roy confirmed the captain would be in the lineup for Tuesday, according to ESPN.
"We just wanted to make sure that we were on the safe side with this one," Landeskog told the Avalanche team website, via ESPN. "So early in the season, there is no point to risking anything now. It was just a minor little thing so we made sure we took care of it right away."
The third-line of P.A. Parenteau, rookie Nathan McKinnon and Jamie McGinn has produced for the Avalanche. Parenteau scored twice against the Predators, and MacKinnon has three assists in his first two NHL games.
"We're trying our best," said Parenteau. "MacKinnon has a lot of speed, a lot of talent. Jamie does his thing, he has a good shot and I try to do my thing. It's been working so far and hopefully we have more coming."
Despite being 3-0-0, the Maple Leafs still have questions at goalie. After allowing eight goals through three games, the Leafs are trying to solve their goalie situation. Jonathan Bernier is expected to start in place of James Reimer. Bernier put himself in contention for the start with his 32 saves on Wednesday in the team's 3-1 win against Philadelphia.
"There wasn't a lot of extra rebounds hanging around," Toronto coach Randy Carlyle said, via ESPN. "When he made the save, the puck was either in his glove or he was able to freeze it. He controlled the puck, which allowed us to box out. There wasn't so many wild scrambles around the net. Hat's off to him."
