Well we’re finally at Episode 3 of "NCIS" which means no more Ziva (Cote de Pablo) and a string of fill-ins. The first of these fill-ins will be Roma Maffia as Vera Strickland, an agent that has ties to Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) and Mike Franks’ past at NIS.

In the third episode entitied, “Under the Radar,” the group tries to solve a case that features something that may put Gibbs at a very rare disadvantage—Twitter. He eventually asks the inevitable questions anyone would ask if they’ve never heard of Twitter:

“What’s a hashtag?” Gibbs may have to trust McGee (Sean Murray) for this one.

“NCIS” said farewell to Cote de Pablo and her character last week in what was an emotional episode filled with lies, promises and the long awaited Ziva and Tony (Michael Weatherly) kiss. Prior to the episode, there was a lot of speculation as to how Ziva would leave the show. For example, there was the possibility that Ziva would face the same fate as the other characters that have left the "NCIS"—death.

“I thought that Ziva deserved better than that,” showrunner Gary Glassberg told TVGuide.com. “And this was an emotional thing off-screen and on-screen. We wanted to do this properly. Hopefully, [it will] give the fans what they've been waiting for, and let these two characters part ways in a satisfying manner.”

Glassberg added that leaving Ziva alive contributed to the sentimental aspect of the story.

"I like the idea that — specifically in terms of Tony and Ziva, how they connect and the romance that exists —she's still out there,” he explained. “For me, that really pulls at the heartstrings, and that was part of the decision as well.”

Ziva’s character could ultimately be replaced by Bishop (played by Emily Wickersham). Fans won’t see Bishop until November.

“NCIS” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
