An American Airlines flight traveling from Texas was delayed from its original time of departure for more than an hour after bees flew twice straight into one of the airplane's wings.

The swarm went directly into the wing of a 767 plane Thursday where they were spotted by the airport crew of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. A bee keeper was called to the airport to control the situation, according to American Airlines' spokesperson Andrea Huguely, reported the New York Daily News. 

The airplane stuck in Texas was from Las Vegas, turning around and on its way to Frankfurt, Germany.

"Unfortunately, not long after the beekeeper left, another swarm decided to visit the same aircraft," added Huguely, according to Reuters. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the bee invasion.

The beekeeper was able to securely remove a queen and the swarm from under the airplane's wing. The queen's scent apparently attracted the bees to head under the American Airlines plane, according to WLOX.
