Rumors have resurfaced that Chelsea Clinton might not be the biological daughter of former President Bill Clinton, but rather, the daughter of Webb Hubbell, a former lawyer and mayor of Little Rock, Ark. Conservative journalist Robert Marrow, an ardent critic of the Clintons, confronted the former first daughter about this possibility during her first book signing in Austin, Texas on Friday, but she successfully avoided answering the question, reports The International Business Times.

"Has your mother ever told you that you're the daughter of Webb Hubbell, and not Bill Clinton?" Marrow asked Chelsea Clinton at her book-signing table.

A calm and composed Chelsea Clinton responded with a smile, "I am so proud to be my parents' daughter."

Marrow went on to ask Chelsea Clinton about her new book, "It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going," which is a guide for young people trying to navigate a world full of problems, including graphs and statistics, according to the Daily Mail.

Marrow then accused Bill Clinton of being a pedophile, asking, "Would you say Bill Clinton also targets teenage girls, except for sexual reasons?"

Chelsea Clinton signed his book and responded, "I would say my book is really resonating with kids. I was at the Ann Richards School earlier today, and I'm so grateful that it's resonating to the young girls and the young boys that I've been talking to across the country."

According to Bill Clinton's former aide Larry Nichols, Clinton admitted to him in 1984 that he was not the biological father of Chelsea, after rumors surfaced that he had an affair with and impregnated a woman from Little Rock, Ark. Nichols says that the former POTUS denied the allegations, saying it was impossible because he is sterile.

"We were discussing a woman's claims that Bill had knocked her up and what we should do about it," said Nichols, as HNGN previously reported. "But he denied that he could have gotten her pregnant. He said he had measles as a kid and that rendered him sterile."

"His exact words were, 'I shoot blanks.' Stunned by what I'd just heard, I asked him, 'Then what about Chelsea?' And he said, 'Oh, Webb [Hubbell] sired her.'"

Businessman Finis Shelnutt, who used to be Hubbell's brother-in-law, reportedly told The National Enquirer that the affair between Hillary Clinton and Hubbell, who were once law partners, was fairly well known in Arkansas.

"That was rumored in Arkansas for years and totally public. A lot of people suspected that," Shelnutt said. He added that the older Chelsea gets, the more she resembles Hubbell.

"Chelsea kind of looked like Webb at that time," he said. "That is what a lot of people talked about. Of course Webb never discussed it with the family. It was just never brought up."

In 2014, DNA was covertly obtained from both Webb and Chelsea. The samples were brought to a genetics lab and the official forensic results came back as "inconclusive," meaning the examination could not disprove that Webb was Chelsea's father, according to the gossip site Radar Online.
