Sony Unveils PlayStation 4 and Game Console

Sony unveiled its PlayStation 4 and game console Wednesday in New York during its "PlayStationMeeting 2013″

After months of speculations and rumors, Sony finally unveiled its much awaited PlayStation 4 and a game console Wednesday in New York during its "PlayStationMeeting 2013." The game console is said to have a "share" button, touch pad and a light bar.

"'PlayStation' Today marks a moment of truth and a bold step forward for PlayStation as a company," said Andrew House, president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, as he took the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday. "Today we will give you a glimpse into the future of play.'Meeting 2013'″

House also revealed a stereo camera that works together with the DualShock controller. The company announced that the device will be available "holiday 2013" but didn't mention any specific date or price. The company also refrained from showing what the new gaming hardware looked like, showing pictures of just the console and the camera.

Game designer Mark Cerny also addressed the room full of journalists talking about the development and design of the new gaming unit, but didn't reveal too much about the specifications of the PS4.

David Perry - CEO and founder of Gaikai - also took the stage Wednesday. Sony bought his game streaming company last year. He explained that integration of the streaming service with the PlayStation Store will allow gamers to instantly try games before they buy them.
