James Dukes, an 11-year-old boy, helped achieve a feat that most spend years in school learning to do. The young man from Marietta, Georgia managed to help his mother give bith earlier this week, helping his younger brother come into the world.

The young man was at home with his mother, Kenyarda, when she suddenly went into labor earlier than expected, according to CBS News

"All of a sudden I couldn't get to the bed anymore, so I just collapsed on the floor," Kenyarda said.

With her husband at work and with her newest baby on the way out, her fate ended up in the hands of her son James. Leaping into action, he immediately did what he could to help his mother.

"It didn't really scare me. It was more just like, 'let me clean the baby off, make sure he's okay, make sure my mom's okay,'" he said, according to MSN News

He then called 911, where the emergency operator instructed him on what he could do to keep his newborn brother safe and warm while the responders were on their way. Both mother and child were safe and in stable condition when the paramedics arrived, reports Fox 8 News

"He was my help, he was my guardian angel. He was the man, he was the doctor, he was my superhero," Kenyarda said.

Though his family is extremely proud of the young man's actions, James considers the experience a significant sign to change his future plans. Rather than pursuing his dream of playing for the NFL, the 11-year-old who delivered his own brother now wants to become, naturally, a doctor.
