High school student Cody Pines has become somewhat of a hero, and deservedly so. Pines stepped in when he saw Austin, his blind classmate, being beaten up by a bully while Austin tried to desperately save his face.

The incident occurred at the Huntington Beach High School in Southern California during the school lunch break, reports Canada Journal.

Pines hit the bully to the ground before walking up to Austin and asking, "Are you OK, Austin?" according to Sport Act.

Pines then said to the bully lying on the ground "Are you trying to f*cking jump a blind kid, bro?I will f*ck you up."

"But when you punch a blind kid, that's what made me so mad. I kinda regretted it but I kinda didn't because if I didn't Austin would've been more hurt," Pines told FOX LA speaking about the incident, reported the New York Daily News.

The school has condoned the incident and is investigating the matter. "The Huntington Beach school community is disappointed and discouraged by the recent bullying behavior captured on video at Huntington Beach High School. We are proud of our quality high schools, and this incident does not reflect the school climates," Superintendent Greg Plutko said in a statement.

The perpetrator of the attack was arrested and handed over to his parents, the NY Daily News reported.

Pines hopes that more students come forward to befriend Austin after the incident. "I hope everyone hangs out with him now and shows him love because Austin deserves it. He's such a cool kid," Pines said.
