Reports after the Miami Dolphins lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday indicated that Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh had spent part of the game going off Miami defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle's script, "freelancing" instead of following the play calls and generally creating disruption for his own teammates and not the offense. Thanks to a Monday report from Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, we may now know why Suh decided to do his own thing during the loss to the Jags.

Per Cole, Suh is and has been struggling with the complexities of the Dolphins defense, leading him to stray from the called play. And Cole, citing "multiple sources" within the Dolphins organization, reports that Suh isn't the only one. Dolphins players are beginning to "lose confidence" in Coyle and his schemes, primarily because the unit has failed to live up to the expectations they placed on themselves heading into the 2015 NFL season.

In two weeks, the Dolphins have surrendered 16.5 points and 372.5 yards per game. They've forced only a single turnover and have struggled mightily to create any positive impact for the team.

Part of the reason for this, according to Cole, is the unnecessary complexity of Coyle's scheme. Suh is apparently a prime example of these issues. Suh, who has just three tackles over his two-game Dolphin tenure, is apparently freelancing as a result of the lack of impact he's been able to provide when following Coyle's orders.

It's a long season and 1-1 is not a bad place to be this early, but with difficult AFC East matchups against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets coming in the next two weeks, Coyle, Suh and the rest of the Dolphins defense need to figure out what's gone wrong or the 2015 season could be over before it ever really begins in Miami.
