A pygmy jerboa dessert rodent shows off its amazing jumping ability on a scale near a computer and by a keyboard in this great video footage.

The creature’s are said to measure two to six inches in length, according to Desert USA. This length varies, however, and is based on each type of rodent.

While they move around like kangaroos, the enthusiastic animals live in deserts in Mongolia and China, according to BBC News.

"These creatures hop just like a kangaroo; it is amazing to watch. Little hairs on their feet, almost like snow shoes, allow them to jump along the sand," scientist Jonathan Baillie from the Zoological Society of London said when being interviewed for a story when a jerboa species was photographed in December 2007, which was the first reported time a prodigy of its type was snapped on camera.

“And in terms of mammals, they have one of the biggest ear-to-body ratios out there," Baillie added. "The long-eared jerboa is a bit like the Mickey Mouse of the desert, cute and comic in equal measure."
