With the criticism that his dominance in Grand Slams is over, 33-year-old Federer perhaps has more pressure on him than in any recent memory to win another Grand Slam title, despite last year winning at Wimbledon.

He's 33-11 on the season with the Halle title under his belt. Despite a strong start to the year, Federer struggled down the stretch of the season. Prior to the US Open, he lost in the opening round four times in his last six tournaments, according to TennGrand.com.

Ranked No. 7 in the World, Federer began the bid for his sixth US Open title on Tuesday against Grega Zemlja, who fell in three sets to the 17-time Grand Slam champion.

Tuesday also marked another milestone in Federer's career — his 56th consecutive Grand Slam appearance, tying the record set by Wayne Ferreira in 2004, according to Yahoo! Sports.

"I've put in the hard work for so many years. That keeps my base at a very high level," Federer said, via Yahoo! Sports. "It's actually mow comfortable with my body today than it has been in the past."

Berlocq, ranked No. 48 in the World, is 22-19 on the season with one ATP title from the Swedish Open. Last year, the Argentinian made it to the second round of the US Open.

Berlocq defeated World No. 85 Santiago Giraldo in the opening round on Tuesday, winning in 5 sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-2).

Federer and Berlocq first and only meeting was in 2012 at Rome, where Federer won in two sets.
