Hollywood mourned the death of actress Amanda Peterson, who was found dead at her home in Colorado on July 5, TMZ reported. The actress was best known for her role as popular cheerleader Cindy Mancini in the popular '80s romantic comedy "Can't Buy Me Love."

Her co-star in the film, Patrick Dempsey, took to his Twitter to pay tribute to the actress who died at 43. "In my memory, she will always be vibrant and young. Gone too soon. Sending my thoughts and prayers to Amanda's family," the 49-year-old wrote.

Others joined Dempsey on Twitter and also mourned the actress. Scott Foley wrote, "RIP Amanda Peterson. The teen in me is heartbroken." Will Friedle took a similar approach to remember the actress and wrote, "One of my first crushes ever died today. She was young, talented and beautiful. RIP #AmandaPeterson...thank you for the beautiful dreams."

Peterson's mother Sylvia confirmed the news to ABC and said her daughter's death was "unexpected." The cause of death was not revealed. Peterson left acting in 1994 after a short but successful career.
