The “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” production made a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2014.

Director Zack Snyder along with Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) made an appearance during the Warner Bros. panel in Hall H on Saturday.

The first hint of the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” production came when attendees spotted Affleck’s new Batsuit on the SDCC 2014 floor. The mask and cowl were on display for fans to check out.  The second hint came from Snyder posting an image of Cavill as a Jedi, which could've been a nod to the convention that attracts a lot of cosplay enthusiasts.

The last teaser came when DC Comics hid a photo of Affleck as Batman in its SDCC 2014 booth. Little did fans know it was leading up to a big Warner Bros. reveal in Hall H.

Snyder helped unveil the first image of Gadot as Wonder Woman, successfully shutting down claims the actress was too thin to play the Amazonian princess. The production had previously denied involvement at SDCC 2014.

Along with the images of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman came the first teaser for the film. Screen Crush published the following description of the trailer shown at the Warner Bros. Comic Con panel:

“The panel began with a teaser for the upcoming film, in which we see Ben Affleck’s Batman in an armored suit, standing on a rooftop in the rain. His eyes are glowing a mysterious blue. Batman rips a blanket off of the Bat signal and shines the spotlight into the sky. Just then we see Henry Cavill’s Superman hovering over the Bat signal, his eyes glowing red with rage. The trailer cuts back to Batman, his eyes still glowing a threatening blue, and the two look ready to brawl. The footage cuts to the official logo.”

“Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
