On the heels of the Julianne Moore's exclusive "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" interview, Lionsgate has released the first images from the set.

Moore wears a grey wig and dark clothes as she sits next to Philip Seymour Hoffman. Moore plays President Alma Coin while Hoffman took on the role of Plutarch Heavensbee. You can check out the photos in the slideshow above.

In an interview about "Mockingjay," Moore revealed was she was incredibly drawn to President Coin and what she wanted to bring to the character.

"I've read all the books all the way through and I'm like, 'I want to be in this movie.' Clearly [Coin] was the only part I could play," Moore said. "Coin is very sparingly drawn because you don't know who she is because she's only spoken about through Katniss' point of view."

"And Katniss immediately distrusts her in the way sometimes a young person will distrust an older person whose not familiar to them or in position of authority," she added. "So [the director] and I talked about it a lot, about how do we communicate Coin's wholeness as a person. I think Katniss's response to her is very well drawn, but you don't know who Coin is."

Moore explained there was one particular scene that best describes Coin's character best in the "Hunger Games" novels.

"There's a very interesting scene where the Capitol bombs District 13 and Coin, rather than retaliating, opts to do nothing," Moore said. "And I think that speaks volumes as to who she is as a leader is she's not about to risk revealing herself and her population in a fight when she knows that they're better served by lying low and letting it blow over."
