"Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" game developers at Ubisoft have revealed more gameplay footage to tease fans about the upcoming midnight release.

On Oct. 29 at 12:01 a.m., AC4 will be available for purchase and those who have pre-ordered the game can pick up the installment at select retailers.

However, before you begin playing as infamous pirate Edward Kenway, here are five things you need to know about the upcoming installment.

WARNING: The following list contains AC3 spoilers.

1.DESMOND MILES IS GONE?!

Desmond Miles gave his life at the end of "Assassin's Creed III" to prevent an apocalypse and save humanity. Some speculate Juno tricked Desmond into doing her bidding, other says the First Civilization are the real bad guys.

We do not know what Juno's intentions are, but Ubisoft has repeatedly confirmed Desmond is dead and AC4 is the gaming series' way of "saying goodbye" to him.

R.I.P. Desmond Miles.

2. Present Day gameplay is OPTIONAL

There are many "Assassin's Creed" fans who weren't didn't necessarily like the present day story-line, and Ubisoft heard their cries. Players will only have to participate in 20 to 25 minutes outside of the Animus in the main story.

In the present day storyline of AC4, players will take on the role of an Abstergo Entertainment employee. As an employee, you will have access to a lot of information about Desmond Miles. If you want to know what happened to the series lead, you'll have to do some present day digging.

3. The Jackdaw is EVERYTHING to you; defend it well

You will not be able to advance in the game with a crappy ship and unhappy crewmembers.  Don't count on cutting corners with updgrading the Jackdaw; show him some love.

4. It's Assassin's Creed, so expect some mind-blowing moments in the story

From the mouth of Ubisoft Game Director Ashraf Ismail: "We call those "What the F-k Moments." You can't have an Assassin's Creed game without a What the F-k Moment. It has to be in there. The First Civilization, Juno... all that is part of the brand and yes, there's progression in it. It's not just a nod that we make to it. It's actually part of the meta story. You see what happens after Assassin's Creed III - you see the ramifications of that, and we push it further."

5. There will be about 80 hours of gameplay

The break down is 20 hours to complete the main story and 60 hours of open-world content. Happy pirating!
