It's official, Apple did not unveil any new iPad in its recently concluded Sept. 7 event. With this, is it still possible to expect any iPad Pro or iPad Mini upgrade before the year ends?

It has been widely speculated that the new iPad Mini 5 will be released alongside iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series. However, these speculations were proven false as iPad Mini 5 was noticeably absent in the event.

This is no longer a surprise for Ming Chi-Kuo, a well-known and highly-respected analyst. Even before, he already affirmed that Apple is only keen in developing and growing the family of the iPad Pro.

This is an unfortunate news for users who are comfortable with the compactness and convenience of the iPad Mini.

To respond to this clamor, Apple is speculated to launch iPad Pro Mini instead. However, there are also rumors that the tech giant will eventually decide on the discontinuation of the iPad Mini and will instead launch the iPad Pro 2.

iPad Pro 2 will allegedly be available in three options, 12.9-inch (as the original iPad Pro launched in September 2015), 10.5-inch (new) and 9.7-inch (as the iPad Pro 9.7 launched in March 2016).

These three variations will also be powered with different processors. As iPad Pro 2 9.7 inch will be the most affordable among the three variations, it will be powered by A9X chipset. While both 12.9 inch and 10.5 inch will be powered by A10X chipset.

The bigger and faster iPad Pro 2 12.9 inch and 10.5 inch are expected to target and appeal more to the industries, business-related and education sectors.

Apple Pencil is also expected to be more developed upon the release of the iPad Pro 2 in order to help with its goal.

iPad Pro 2 is expected to be released on March 2017.
