Earlier specifications leaks of the iPhone 7 indicated that the 3.5mm headphone jack was completely scrapped by Apple. Of course, this very big change had some violent reactions while some are totally accepting the news as an innovative change.

Apple is in fact not the first mobile phone manufacturer that launched without the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Lenovo and LeEco (Chinese manufacturer) both already had the same idea with Apple. These two mobile companies are not as big as Apple so the impact was not that significant to people.

Of course, the rumors and leaks were all proven true when the iPhone 7 was unveiled. To compensate for the ditching of the headphone jack, Apple also launched its Airpod earbuds or simply, Airpods.

The tech giant promises that users will not experience any trouble in connecting the Airpods to their iPhones. Apple's Airpods are implanted with a one-of-a-kind W1 wireless chip which helps to quickly pair your iPhone 7 with the Airpods as soon as you open the carrying case. The carrying case acts also as a charger.

Double-tapping your Airpod will activate Siri. And there are also tiny microphones at the ends of each Airpod which you can use to play and stop music and also adjust the volume, all hands-free. Music playback will also only start upon wearing the Airpod and will automatically stop upon removal.

If users want to stick with a wired connection, they can use headphones and connect them using the Lightning port.

Although audio experts still have hesitations regarding this new technology from Apple and still believes that a wired connection is the best for delivering sound stability, from the looks of it, the Airpods will most likely be accepted in due time.

Can you remember when everyone had the same violent reaction when Apple changed to the lightning connector? Well, no one is complaining about that now.
