A Florida man with an existing warrant butt-dialed 911 on his cell phone Thursday at around 7:20 p.m. from Gunter Park in Lake Hamilton, and the events that followed led to his arrest, according to GulfLive.com.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said on its official Facebook page that police authorities responded to the park to assist the Lake Hamilton Police Department regarding the 911 hang-up call.

They found 21-year-old Derek Candelario when they arrived in the park, which had been closed after daylight hours, and he was "immediately non-cooperative with deputies."

Candelario eventually realized that he had accidentally contacted 911. Authorities also revealed that he had an existing warrant for aggravated domestic violence.

The man attempted to flee, but police were able to get a hold of him. He was taken into custody for the warrant along with additional charges, namely possession of marijuana and resisting arrest without violence for trying to run away from the police, according to 10 News.
