A Florida man was arrested after he punched his pregnant sister to death over a dispute about an electric bill

Twenty-five-year-old Willie Ward thumped his older sibling in the head twice at a Fort Lauderdale home on Friday and then quickly fled from the scene.

Jaquinda Wright, 29, collapsed and was immediately taken to a local hospital, where she died shortly after. Her unborn baby also did not survive, according to the New York Daily News.

Neighbors say that the home where the siblings had the argument did not belong to them but rather some friends of Wright, who was in town to pay them a visit, according to Local 10 News.

Ward eventually turned himself in to the police without incident, Capt. Frank Sousa of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department said on Sunday.

Sousa revealed that Ward is now under police custody and will be facing charges for second-degree murder. He added that no decision has been made on whether the suspect will face additional charges since Wright was pregnant at the time of her death, the Tampa Tribune reported.
