Florida man Carlos Pino was driving on Cypress Gardens Blvd. Tuesday evening when he lost control of his 1986 Nissan 300ZX, sparking a string of events leading to his car being split in two, authorities report.

Due to the poor weather conditions and wet roads, Pino, 20, of Winter Haven, over-corrected and spun out of control, causing the car to launch over a curb and crashing into a tree, according to the New York Daily News.

The result? The car was bisected straight through the middle.

"The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to split in two with the front engine compartment on one side of the tree and the vehicle's cab coming to a rest on the opposite side of the tree," a police statement said, AJC reported.

Pino, who was wearing a seat belt, was spotted by authorities and airlifted to Lakeland Regional Center, where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are still in awe over the incident and consider it a miracle that Pino survived such a violent crash.

"We've seen vehicles that were torn apart just like this," Winter Haven Police spokeswoman Jamie Brown told The Washington Post"But the fact that he survived it is an absolute miracle."

There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

Police are still investigating the crash but have so far determined that roadway conditions and speed appeared to have been the leading factors in the accident, believing that Pino was driving faster than the 35 mph speed limit. As such, Pino may face speeding charges.
