Warning: Possible spoilers for "Captain America: Civil War"

Marvel Studios' Phase Three will launch with next year's "Captain America: Civil War." In the comics, the Civil War story line pitted Captain America against Iron Man in an ideological-based battle regarding the Super Hero Registration Act. The legislature would force all heroes to divulge their secret identities and report to the government.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always taken creative liberties with source material. But in the comics, Captain America is forced underground after being branded a fugitive. In the end, he plans to turn himself in but is assassinated by Crossbones. Would the MCU be bold enough to follow through on this story line? It's possible, as MoviePilot reports that the film is shooting a funeral scene in Atlanta this week.

"On Tuesday, May 12th, Captain America: Civil War will be filming what is simply being referred to as a 'funeral scene' in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The production is currently operating under the working title of Sputnik, and extras are being asked to wear formal, solid black attire for the event. The weather forecast for Tuesday is a cloudy day, with thunderstorms throughout the afternoon, making for a sullen, grim funeral."

Could this be Steve Rogers' funeral? It would be a loyal adaptation of the famous story arc in the comics.

Some other guesses: Peggy Carter, in poor health when we last saw her in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," passes away. Or, another character we know could be killed off in the schism between heroes.

It's also possible that this scene could be the funeral of an innocent bystander who was killed in a rescue mission gone wrong. A similar scene plays out in the comics and is a motivating factor in Tony Stark's decision to support the Super Hero Registration Act. While Cap actor Chris Evans is signed on to appear in at least one of the "Avengers: Infinity Wars" films, that could easily be done in a flashback or dream sequence.

For all of the success of the MCU, the films have been criticized by some for their lack of dramatic stakes. Very few heroes are ever put in mortal danger and not even the villains stay dead for long. Killing Captain America would send a powerful message to fans while also giving Bucky Barnes AKA The Winter Soldier the opportunity to pick up Cap's shield in future films.

Movie fans, who do you think the funeral is for?
