Facebook, the social media giant, has introduced a new feature called "On This Day," which takes users back in time and displays friends' photos, updates, shares, likes and comments from a year ago.

Memories are a vital part of human life. Some have good ones while others bad, but they're all part of life and hard to forget.  Recalling certain memories from the past may get tricky sometimes, but Facebook has brought just the feature to relive those lost moments. The world's largest social networking site has introduced a new feature called "On This Day," which shows what you and your friends were up to a year from today.

On This Day is a News Feed feature available on web and mobile. Facebook is still testing its latest feature with a limited number of users who have the updated version of the News Feed. The new option is available as a new menu option on the top right hand side of the page, placed along with the "News Feed", "Most Recent" and "Following" tabs, first noted by Inside Facebook.

Limited Facebook members are able to view the updates from friends including photos, comments, shares, likes and comments as they appeared exactly a year ago. The feature also lists notable events of the month that appeared last year on the right-hand side of the page.

Facebook may have taken a page from Timehop app, which has a similar functionality. It gives users an option to relive the past on social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook has been revamping its social media site of late. Last month, Facebook revealed its plans to understand better why a user doesn't like anything on the News Feed or in simple Facebook terms the reasons behind  hiding a post, person or a page.
