The Seattle Seahawks may have lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, but they head into the 2015 season as the NFL's favorites. According to Las Vegas rankings, the Seahawks are the best bet for the Lombardi Trophy.

"There has been a lot of player movement around the league between trades and free agency, but after we checked in on the team following last weekend's draft, the Seahawks are still the top team in the combined ratings from our panel of ESPN Chalk handicappers - Erin Rynning of sportsmemo.com, Sal Selvagio of madduxsports.com and yours truly, Dave Tuley." Tuley is an ESPN Insider.

It's not hard to see how the odds makers came to this conclusion. Seattle is 14-2 at home over the last two seasons and have largely kept their Super Bowl-caliber roster intact. The Seahawks even added All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler tight end Jimmy Graham this offseason.

"Are three straight Super Bowls possible while not making a first-round pick in each of those years? We'll find out with the Seahawks this season," ESPN Seahawks reporter Terry Blount wrote.

It is possible, especially after ESPN NFL Draft Insider Mel Kiper Jr. gave the team the highest grade in the NFL Draft. The collection of young talent and effective veterans head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider have amassed is truly impressive. Although the Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts are all viable threats, it is the Seahawks that head into the 2015 season as the favorites.
