"Gangsta" singer Kat Dahlia was arrested for DUI Tuesday morning in Miami, FL, making the situation worse by cursing at the arresting officer, according to TMZ.
TMZ reports the 23-year-old was pulled over for speeding at about 3 a.m. The officer approached her 2013 Nissan, and smelled the pungent odor of alcohol from the vehicle.
She was recorded to be driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone and was pulled over, the affidavit said.
USA Today reports Dahlia was also driving with her headlights off. When the officer pulled the singer over, Dahlia handed the officer her driver's license, the officer noticed she had blood shot eyes and her speech was heavily slurred, the affidavit said.
The arresting officer wrote in the report Dahlia's speech was heavily slurred, and the officer proceeded by asked her to get out of her car. Being asked to step out of her vehicle allegedly angered Dahlia, and she reportedly became increasingly confrontational.
"You only assume I might be drunk because I forgot to turn my headlights on and I'm a speeder," Dahlia said, according to the affidavit.
According to TMZ, the singer was asked to complete a field sobriety test, but refused, and continued to yell at the officer. Dahlia was placed under arrest, but allegedly resisted by not placing her hands behind her back.
The arresting officer reportedly had to force Dahlia's hands in order to cuff her.
Dahlia was taken to a nearby police station where she was booked for misdemeanor DUI and resisting arrest. Jail records indicate that she is being held on $2000 bail, according to USA Today.
Dahlia is Cuban-American raised in Miami, and was reportedly celebrating her 23rd birthday Monday in Beach. The video for her famous single "Gangsta" has more than 6.2 million views on YouTube.
