Country superstar Tim McGraw has enjoyed tremendous success with radio singles over the course of his career, but in a new interview, he says artists should be judged by their entire albums, not just by their songs.
According to CMT, McGraw said he is grateful for getting his songs onto country radio, "As an artist - and as a fan - you sort of want people to listen to the whole record."
"You have to get into the album. You have to get into the music to really understand what an artist is all about," said McGraw, whose most recent studio album, "Sundown Heaven Town," includes four radio singles; the most recent is "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools."
McGraw is one of the A-list stars who will play tonight (April 24) at the Stagecoach music festival in Indio, Calif. - the same site as Coachella. Other big names at Stagecoach include Jake Owen, Kacey Musgraves and Kip Moore.
