During William Shatner's San Diego Comic-Con 2013 appearance at TV Land Legends of Comedy panel, the former Star Trek actor talked about his potential role Star Wars Episode VII.

Shatner would reportedly love it if director J.J. Abrams would let him replace Harrison Ford as Han Solo, according to reports.

"The lead," Shatner said jokingly to the Comic-Con panel audience when asked what role he would want in the upcoming Star Wars film. "Harrison Ford, progressed!"

According to ComicBook.com, reporters also asked Shatner if fans will say his future involvement with the Star Trek.

"I haven't been asked to do [the director's cut]. There hasn't been a demand. You and I lead that group of people," Shatner said, referring to the upcoming flim. "My one-line idea was 'Star Trek goes in search of God.' Then I ran into flak: 'Whose God? What God? We're not going to alienate people.' Somebody came up with the idea, 'Well, what happens if it's an alien who thinks he's God? And then an alien who thinks that he's the Devil by projection that there's a God? And in order to get that movie made, I agreed to it, and that was a compromise."

Another actor fans are curious to see in the new "Star Wars" film is Samuel L. Jackson, who was also at Comic-Con this year to promote "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

According to Yahoo!, Jackson was attended the recent wedding of George Lucas and ran into "Star Wars: Episode 7" director J.J. Abrams.

"J.J. [Abrams] was there, I was there," Jackson said at Comic-Con. "I was like [raises eyebrows] and he was like [noncommittal shrug], and he just went about his business. I don't know what that means."

And Jackson continued to play coy about the subject, but admitted to wanting to be a part of the next "Star Wars" film.

"Harrison [Ford] was [at the wedding] too, and he was like [shrug],"told the Comic-Con crowd. "I just think it would be cool to have some of us that people relate to as being part of the 'Star Wars' franchise to give entire to the new characters that they're going to bring to whatever the new thing is. It kind of makes it an easier entrance."

Would you like to see Harrison Ford and Samuel L. Jackson make their return to the "Star Wars" franchise? What about William Shatner's potential involvement?
