Following its official announcement at this year's E3 conference, a brand new trailer for "Lightening Returns: Final Fantasy 13," which will be released February 11, 2014 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
The new trailer is a mash up of the stunning cinematic the game series has become known for over the years along with some of the featured game play. This allows the brief two-minute trailer to cover everything from snippets of the game's plotline, some combat features and some new outfits players will be able to wear in-game.
The trailer, featured below, also reminds viewers to preorder the game in order to take advantage of the "Lightening Returns: Final Fantasy 13" Cloud Strife DLC for free. This will grant users Cloud Strife's SOLDIER 1st Class Uniform and Buster Sword from "Final Fantasy 7," according to the International Business Times. Preorder gamers will also get access to a Soldier's Band as well as a Special Finish Animation and Victory Fanfare. Preorders for the game are currently being accepted on Amazon.
The new game takes place centuries after the events of the original Final Fantasy 13. Lightening has been chosen to "rescue lost souls" and become a savior to the world. In the trailer, she goes up against a man who claims he "committed the ultimate sin" five centuries earlier and says killing her won't affect his conscience in any way.
As mentioned, the trailer makes a point of showcasing some of the new costumes player's can dress Lightening in. However, these are more than just a reskinning of the character so that users can customize her. The different outfits provide the heroine with different powers and abilities in combat. Meaning the outfit will be based on the mission and the player's game style.
