Kathy Griffin will follow Kelly Osbourne out the door at "Fashion Police," quitting the E! series after just seven episodes.

Griffin announced her exit in a lengthy Twitter post on Thursday evening and wished the E! team "only the best." She joined the program in January, filling the seat left vacant by the late Joan Rivers.

"I discovered that my style does not fith with the creative direction of the show and now it's time to move on," she wrote. "I hope to continue to make you all laugh performing live or on television where I can be smart, irreverent, unrepentant and unafraid in an observational way that is candid, honest and justified."

E! thanked her for her time and the laughs she brought to the show.

"We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all," the network said in a statement.

Griffin started the resignation letter by introducing herself and listed her accomplishments as well as her activism for the LGBT community. She wanted to continue Rivers' "brash and eccentric" comedy on "Fashion Police," but later came to the conclusion that her brand of comedy didn't fit the show.

"Listen, I'm no saint - I'm a feminist AND a Gurrrrl who loves an offensive joke or a well-timed barb and you will find plenty in my repertoire. But I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference," she wrote.

The 54-year-old comedian is leaving the show a couple weeks after Osbourne announced her own exit after starring for five years on the program. Her decision to quit followed co-host Giuliana Rancic's disparaging comments made during the post-Oscars telecast about actress Zendaya Coleman's hair.

E! announced that Osbourne left to "pursue other opportunities." She told her mother Sharon Osbourne and the other ladies of CBS's "The Talk" that her time spent on "Fashion Police" and working with Rivers was "incredible," but she wanted to "try new things."

The network has not announced any possible replacements for the two exiting women, although E! fashion correspondent Khloe Kardashian and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Nene Leakes have been rumored as potential candidates.

"Fashion Police" is scheduled to return on Monday, March 30 at 9 p.m. with co-hosts Rancic and Brad Goreski as well as executive producer and Rivers' daughter, Melissa.
