Hairy Legs Stockings To Ward Off Rapists? China's New Viral Craze (VIDEO)

China has come up with a new alternative to pepper spray, stockings that mimic hairy legs in order to make women less desirable to predators.

A Sina Weibo (China's Website similar to Twitter) user uploaded the viral photo of the furry stockings, NBC reported.

"Super sexy, summertime anti-pervert full-leg-of-hair stockings, essential for all young girls going out," user HappyZhangjiang captioned the photo.

The stockings are designed to ward off predators by simulating extremely bushy leg hair.

"This will not only prevent against perverts, it'll definitely also result in preventing handsome guys from approaching you. When things go to the extreme, they can only go the opposite direction!!!" one commenter said according to the International Business Times.

This is not the first time women have used wearable rape prevention .Students in India recently engineered a pair of "anti-rape underwear" as a response to a violent group rape ending in a fatality, according to NBC News.

The underwear was designed to give electric shocks to an attacker, and a GPS device would alert both authorities and the victim's parents of their location.

"Firstly, the system is placed in a bi-layer fabric, which ensures insulation to the victim," said creator Manisha Mohan, an aeronautical engineering student at SRM University in India. "Also the pressure values for squeeze, pinch and grab have been calibrated. The force applied on hugging does not satisfy the conditions for actuation of the device, and there is also a self-actuation switch where a woman can actuate it by herself when in unsafe environment," according to the BBC.

The device has a pressure sensor connected with an electric circuit, which keeps the wearer themselves from receiving the 3800 kv shock.

These furry leggings are much more controversial. Some Sina Weibo users weren't enthusiastic as enthusiastic about the product.

"Damn, so disgusting!" Commented a user of the site, according to The Daily Mail. Other users suggested simply not shaving your legs as an alternative.

The website did not tell users where they can find this furry bottom wear.
