A woman's body was found inside a car belonging to a missing pregnant woman who is expected to give birth any day now, California investigators said.

Aubrey Andrews, of Sacramento, was reported missing by her husband Edward Andrews Dec. 6 when she drove away that night in her Prius, KTXL reported. Her car was found in a Walmart parking lot in Elk Grove on Monday, but police did not release any more details except that there appeared to be no signs of criminal activity.

"There were no obvious sings of foul play, but we are not ruling anything out," Sacramento officer Justin Brown told KTXL.

Sacramento police said a coroner is currently working on identifying the woman.

Andrews, who is nine months pregnant, did not take any of her personal belongings when she drove away from their home, Edward Andrews told the station. She also left their 3-year-old son behind.

The next day, Edward said he found his 20-year-old wife's purse on their doorstep with notebooks inside.

"She had notebooks of letters saying a lot of different things that she left to us," Edward told KTXL. He also said his wife has been having a difficult time lately.

"This pregnancy's been really hard on her," he told KTXL. "It's like all of that combined with some personal issues she has, it was just a lot for her. But I still feel she's somewhere, like a shelter."

Court records show the couple had marital troubles in recent months, with Aubrey filing a restraining order against her husband in January, the station reported. She filed for divorce in May but later changed her mind.

Local neighbors also said they heard the couple fighting on several occasions, but the husband has not been named a suspect and police are still investigating her disappearance.
