People are outraged over Marilyn Manson's show during a recent concert. The Goth rocker dedicated the song, "Disposable Teens" to the 15-year-old telling the crowd "This song is for Paris Jackson" as the crowd broke out in cheers.
He performed the song, which is about a teenager who is angry at society, during a show for his "Shock Therapy" tour. Reportedly he ended the dedication by pulling out a meat cleaver and pretending to cut his wrists, US Weekly reports.
The Huffington Post reports that the knife was attached to his microphone as a prop and even though he has used it in the past, his recent stunt was not well received.
According to the Daily Mail, the stunt angered The Samaritans, a charity group that helps people who are suffering from suicidal thoughts.
"Everyone in the suicide prevention field agrees that graphic depiction of self-harm is a provocative act that does impact people who are in distress in a manner that is very counter-productive and harmful," Alan Ross, Executive Director from the Samaritans USA New York told the website. "Even in creative environments there should be some sense of social responsibility that is aware of the impact of actions and messages."
Manson described the song as "a signature Marilyn Manson song aimed particularly at those who were brought-up to feel like accidents."
It has been reported that one of the reasons behind Paris Jackson's suicide attempt was because of an argument she got into when she was not allowed to attend a Marilyn Manson concert. According to the celebrity website TMZ, Manson reached out Jackson telling the website that "she'll get VIP treatment whenever she wants to come to a show."
The rocker was reportedly saddened by the news and sent the young girl well wishes.
