Windows Phone 8 Software Leak? (SLIDESHOWy)

A Reddit user who goes by the handled "ChinaMan28" posted a series of screenshots from a Windows Phone he claims has features in place that the company is only beta testing and designing.

He claims he purchased a Lumia 920 on Ebay and that it came with a slew of apps and features that aren't yet available across the board on all Windows Phones including a notification center, which Microsoft admitted that it ran out of time before it could make on the initial Windows Phone launch.

The software on the phone identifies itself as version 12084(wpbldlab).20130509-1407, meaning that it was compiled on May 9^th. The notification center can be seen in one of the posted screenshots that provides access to the Live Tile notifications.

In addition to the notification center, there's a redesigned calendar interface that contains weekly news and the ability to sort applications by name and frequency of use in the app list.

TheVerge reports Microsoft seems to be working to improve multitasking abilities on the phone as well. The screenshots hint that the phone is able to close apps in the multitasking view. ChinaMan28 claims the phone comes with a number of test applications starting with the letter "Z." Microsoft is known to include these apps on developer units, so it's not unlikely this reddit user actually has one of these developer units or to see any of this content on an early build.

According to the Verge: "One particular application, Here Drive, mentions "beta BLUE" at the end of its name. It's not clear if the Blue moniker refers to a rumored Windows Phone "Blue" update, but the features and changes would indicate that this is a future version of Windows Phone."

Although the specifications don't seem too far fetched, everything posted by an unidentified Reddit user has to be taken with a grain of salt. It could be the next big thing in Windows Phones, or it could be an elaborate hoax from a person who is very gifted in photoshop.

Only time will tell, however, Microsoft has a press event scheduled for Monday. So, people might not have to wait long.
