WWDC 2013 Rumors: What You Can Expect From The Apple Event

Apple's keynote speech at its annual World Wide Developer's Conference is scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. For weeks rumors have been circulating as to what exactly will be announced and showcased at the conference. Here is a rundown of what people can expect to see at the World Wide Developer's Conference:

iOS 7

Apple has been working on a new update to its operating system. iOS 7, which has been in the hands of Apple's chief design engineer John Ive. 9to5Mac reports the new design will be flatter and will do away with a lot of the complicated textures that try to emulate real life. For example, the notepad application will be completely redone and no longer look like a physical yellow notepad. The leather-bound Calendar interface on the iPhone will also be replaced with a more crisp and clean looking design in iOS 7.

Mac OS X 10.9

An often forgotten aspect of Apple's repertoire is its operating system for Macs. At the conference, Macs are expected to get a bit of a software facelift.

Noteworthy changes include updates to the Finder application that will allow tags and tabbed browsing, an updated version of the Safari web browser.

New Macs

A new Macbook Pro could be in the works however, it's very likely that the company will debut new new Macbook Air at the Conference. The new Air will feature a new, faster Wi-Fi chip that will allow the notebook to download files more quickly and easily. This will also benefit the device when it comes to streaming video. In addition, insiders report the new Macook Air will have a better battery life as a result of the Haswell chipset by Intel.

iRadio

Apple reached a deal with Sony on Friday to get on board with the highly anticipated music streaming service that Apple reportedly has in the works. Nicknamed "iRadio," this service gives users a Pandora-like experience of music streaming for free based on a person's individual taste in music. The service will be free as Apple is hoping to capitalize on its iAd system for revenue.

New iPhones and iPads

Although new mobile devices are rumored to be in the works and since it has been nine months since the release of the iPhone 5, people shouldn't get their hopes up that these devices will be announced at the conference next week. Typically, something as big as a new iPhone or iPad release comes from a press event all to itself. In other words, although it's probably not scheduled for next week, it's likely already scheduled for sometime soon.
